New Ecumenical Vision: Ecumenical Institute for the Middle East!

The Ecumenical Institute for the Middle East Continues its Journey with a new Vision and Shared Responsibility… In a spirit of renewal and openness, the Board of Directors of the ecumenical institute held its first meeting in its new formation on Monday, May 19, 2025. It was an online meeting! The participants were professors and students from seven Arab countries, representing a wide spectrum of churches.

The meeting marked an important milestone in the institute’s journey. A new administrative structure was adopted based on broader shared responsibility. Hence, it reflects the belief that collective effort eases the burden and strengthens continuity. In addition to that, the board agreed to open the door to all those who wish to actively contribute to the ecumenical mission. Nevertheless, they must show a spirit of commitment and cooperation.

Participants stressed that the institute’s mission must extend beyond a single phase. In fact, it is renewed constantly, as long as there is someone who believes in peace and carries its light within. Years of work, experience, and dialogue have brought together educators and students from various countries, and this journey continues to grow and deepen.
